Finally ... Updated!!

Adelaide & Sarah made a bunch of new friends yesterday!! We'll tell you all about it later but right now they are hungry AGAIN & Daddy & I are taking them to a special fun day in 47 minutes (but who's counting??)
Ahhh.....We are having a fun weekend :):):)

So here is the update

It was kids' fun day at Stacie's! She & Ray took munchkins from age 8 years to 4 weeks old for dog sled rides & skiing (both with & without dogs!!) I don't know who had more fun...the kids or the grown-ups!! I took TONS of photos but they are at the camera shop 1/2 lost on a defective memory card...I was sick as I watch them quickly disappear. I hope Michael at the shop can reclaim them for me! This is the second time in a week that the card as messed up :( With the shop being 100 miles away it is less than convenient! In the mean time....at least I can explain these :)

Elis, Sarah & Adelaide snuggle in Stacie's skookum sprint sled!! Elis is only 4 weeks old & yet she is the same size as the twins at 4 months!!

Stacie's dogs were curious about the squawking "puppies" in the sled! The "puppies" seemed oblivious fo the dogs!

Ray & I didn't want to disturb the sleeping babies so ... we simply brought them into the cabin :):):) We wondered if Stacie would notice ...

Bird Fest!!

One of the things about my community that is so incredible is, the people! So what does THAT have to do with BIRDS?? Well, it's simple. Elsabe lives in my community. She & I moved to the North around the same time & we became friends :) I might add that Elsabe keeps flying outside to do extremely cool things like playing fiddle on the Fred Eaglesmith trains!! This keeps her in the perpetual role of the "Cheechalko". I, on the other hand, lead a less adventurous life style therefore became a "Sourdough" on day 365!! But I digress... Elsabe is an amazing Birder. You should hear her bird calling!! Knowing that I am nursing twins and relegated to my recliner on gorgeous Yukon days, (the recliner was donated by yet another amazing community neighbour & friend) Elsabe brought over this beautiful bird feeder post & loaded it up with seed! She did this so that I would have something visual & beautiful to carry me away during the long hours of nursing!
Here are the results:)
This is Harry. He stopped by for a quick visit the other day - Didn't stay long but his cheeriness was worth an afternoon of recliner based smiles!
------------------------------
The Red-Poles are migrating right now & my feeder is a fabulous resting spot!

One day last week, there were so many of these little friends hovering & fluttering around the seed sock that they resembled something like a bee-hive! Never have I seen so many birds in one spot. At times, all you could see were feathers & NO seed sock!! Did I have batteries in my camera at the time?? Heck no...proving that many of the Yukon's magical moments are only meant for those of us who dare to live here :)
Thanks Elsabe, you're one heck of a gal!!

We're back again.....

You'd think that I was busy or something!!
It's been a good two weeks + since I've gotten onto this computer!
In the mean time the girls have had lots of Yukon Family in for visits...
and in this family, snuggling is NEVER over rated!!!
We can never get enough of our Tante M
Please hurry home from "Down Under"!!!!
Gran & Adelaide seem to be glowing :)
But then again, Gran brings out the best in everyone!

Barb & Sarah enjoy a visit! & oh, how gentle is Barb! It's really fun to watch her hold a child!

Wellington wasn't going to let "My Martin" get away with out sharing a snuggle. Heck he was the first born after all!!

----------------------------------------
Andrea @ Sportees (http://www.sportees.com/) made these really cool hats for the three of us girls!! We LOVE them Andrea!! You're the best :)

Here's Adelaide in her new lid!! The yellow is so cheerful :)

Sarah is stunning in purple, isn't she?? She looks like she is modeling for Andrea!!

I love my new hat too!!

Thanks Andrea!! We're off for a winter walk to show off our new hats!!!

Well short but sweet...
I'll try to do better this week!

Valentine's Day

Sean announced his plans for Valentine's Day!! He was going to spend the day with his 3 girls :) Given the fact that he is at the cabin every day working hard to get it read for us to return home...we get very little family time these days SO, I was one happy gal with this news!!
The day started with the early rising of our babies...Once they'd had their breakfast it was our turn!! Eggs, toast, juice & a yummy piece of chocolate :):):) with fresh coffee to wash it all down with! Sounds like our regular weekend start pre-babies (minus the chocolate) but we've not had a family breakfast since they were born!! I really miss this lost part of our routine & look forward to reinstating it once we move home!!

After we cleaned up, two of the women from the Child Development Centre arrived to meet the twins. We visited for about 2 hours, talking about, what else but, baby stuff!! Sean & I loved the visit & found the information provided, to be of great interest!! We look forward to our new relationship with the folks who work there, as we grow as a family!!
The meeting behind us, it was off to Stacie's & Ray's place for a Valentine's Day Afternoon!
We were packed... we were on the road...& THIS is what we saw...

Three stunning beasts soaking in the sun on the side of the highway! All Bull Elk & all beautiful, seaming to enjoy the warm weather & the brightness of the day like the rest of us :)

What an amazing place at live!!
What amazing creatures
What an an amazing Valentine's Day gift!!
So...they laughed when we arrived with our luggage in tow!
"Clear out the cabin, the FitzGerald's are moving in!!"
WOW it's amazing how much stuff you have to pack to go for a simple visit to a friend's house!! It's as much work as loading up the dog truck to go to a race!!

Adelaide, hanging out with Stacie...

Sarah, hanging out with Daddy...

Racie & Stay seem to have this whole baby thing down-pat !!

Racie & her Mum had a surprise waiting for us on this special day...
Two adorable sweat shirts ...
There IS a baby in there!!
"Give it a few months - we'll grow into them yet!!"

What a day...
What a HAPPY day :):)

Babies' first walk deleted!!

It must be late!! I've been typing away (again) with pictures all loaded up...all ready to save & POOF it's all gone!! & NOT "Gone to the Dogs", instead, "gone to cyber space"!! With no energy or time to repost it tonight :( this is what you get.....

....I thought that Wellington was going to knock the computer plugs out because he has found another mouse & is on the hunt...apparently it is hiding under my seat...making Blogging rather challenging! Having a relatively large dog bouncing around your legs banging into everything & knocking your stuff flying, isn't conducive to a successful & productive work space... wowza... There goes the floor lamp!! God love my dog :) I hope he catches that darn mouse!! The last one became raven food...trap and all...guess the raven thought the trap was an extra bonus & flew off with it attached to the mouse (Sean had tossed it out the front door with the intentions of retrieving the trap later!!) I wonder what THIS mouse will become in the end, Welly's hoer'dourves??

Tomorrow, Sean is taking us for babies first dogsled ride & then we're off to a friend's for a visit...a family day...that is his Valentine's Day gift to me :) SOOO I'll touch base on Friday & try to re-post those "Babies' first walk" pics again!! Heck I'll be able to post "Babies' first dogsled ride" at the same time...that is, if I've found favour with the cyber gods!!

Cheers

Babies' first walk

Marguerite & I took Adelaide & Sarah out for their FIRST WALK!! I was so excited that I almost cried! Now seriously folks...I know that must sound a bit much but really, I've been house bound for MONTHS starting with a belly out to there & then now with two little ones in somewhat FRIGID Northern temperatures, cabin fever finally set in!!! I needed the walk as much as the twins did! In our new skookum ride, off we went. Down the street and to the left...when it was time to turn around I just couldn't do it! I HAD to keep going...it was SOOO beautiful out and warm at a balmy -28C. How could I turn around?? NOT to mention, the company was stellar !
Mummy & her girls in the great outdoors!!!!!

Thankfully Marguerite was able to do the pushing for the second half of the walk...otherwise I'd not have made it home!!! We'd just done an hour & a half of yoga & by night fall my glutes were KILLING me!

By the way...you should have seen how bundled up the babies were!! A billion blankets & hot water bottles everywhere!!! I think in the end they were a bit poached - not to be confused with the word pooched - I do mean poached, like little eggs!!

Meet Marguerite...My Friend :)
