Canadian
Tiger
Swallowtails
are everywhere!
.
.
And the beautiful creatures keep
finding their way into my greenhouse!
I do my best to catch and release them...
. .
Adelaide loves to see them
before they fly away
.
Daddy goes for the
up close & personal farewells
.
while Sarah decides that
she likes this thing on
Mummy's hand quite a bit
and rather
NOT AT ALL
on her!
.
Seems to me,
the closer look you get
the more interesting they get!
Apparently these delightful creatures
only live for 10 to 14 days
in their adult butterfly form...
Such a short time to enjoy them,
don't you think?
.
And as they age,
their wings become
tattered and worn.
hummm....not unlike ours!
.
Time to rescue another one ...
.
And while Swallowtails are
gracefully lilting about
happily fluttering from flower to flower,
this rare & delightful species

can.

Those butterflies are beautiful Heather! I see your tomatoes are coming along nicely :)
What a great camping trip you had. Looks like the girls had lots of fun.
Cheers Betty! We have more Swalllowtails this year than ever before! It's amazing! And I have a tomato that is actually sarting to turn a bit red :):):) I did cheat though - with this being my first greenhouse, I started with plants instead of seeds! It's still very exciting to see everything grow! It's a small8'x8' and the girls call it the Gingerbread House...not sure where they got THAT from but the name has stuck ;)
Love the pics Heather! You are soooo good at keeping your blog up to date . . . .I just can't seem to get back at it . . . . and, another DockDogs season is almost upon me! Yikes!! Are you on Facebook? Easier to see my pics there! Just got back from a trip to Ireland - tons of pics will be up eventually.
Love Jude
That Funny...I stink at Facebook but I'm getting a bit better at it! I just sent you a friend request ;) Can't wait to see the photos from your trip!!!
