.
.
This dialogue just took place between
Adelaide & Sarah.
As Sarah rhymed off the items,
Adelaide carefully wrote each one down
on her shopping list...
..
.
A - What we need?
S - Chocolate soup!
A - Oh ya! What else we need?
S - Marshmallows for the camper
A - What we need?
S - Ice for the camper
A - What else we need?
S - Crackers
A - Crackers...What else we need?
S - Cheese
A - Cheese...What we need?
S - A computer
A - What else we need?
S - A brand new house!
A - A brand new house? (she writes it down)
What we need?
S - A wall
A - OK...What else we need?
S - A camera
A - Oh we need paper and a pencil!
(pause) Help me Sarah!!
S - Ummm...We need pants...
.
*****
.
Some how the list just came to an abrupt end...
I guess they feel that they have
everything else they need!
Now they are drinking apple juice.
Adelaide asked Sarah if she'd like more &
Sarah came back with...
.
are you ready for this?...
.
I'm not finished my wine yet!
.
.
Where DO they come up with these things??

.
.
.
After cleaning the campground,
nothing like a bit of beach time
to bring out
their shining smiles...
.
Adelaide loves to throw rocks into the water.
She could spend HOURS entertaining
herself finding
the heart shaped ones!!
.
This day, the wind was
blowing SO hard that
Sarah's ringlets were being blown
straight!
Now THAT is a strong wind!
.
Kathleen Lake would been filled in
if I let these two
spend a whole day on the shore!
.
What really got me,
was that they insisted on walking in the water!!
The girls didn't even flinch at the
icy temperature of the glacial water
in this mountain lake!
Only Yukon kids would ever be willing to splash
in these waters...
.
Drying off in the Kitchen Shelter
sure brought out
more (and warmer) smiles
;-)
.
They never cease to amaze me...
they are always stuck to each other!
.
It was so warm & cozy in the shelter,
with the sunshine pouring
in through the big windows...
and the sound of the wind blowing outside
made if feel even more cozy in there!
.
Funny, no matter where we are,
I can never seem to get
enough ...
.
photos of
their
beautiful faces...
.
besides...with you living so far away...
nothing like a place for you to follow them as they grow...
wish you were here...
.
.
.
.
.
.
Let the adventure begin!

.
.
This summer
we have been doing something new...
As a family unit,
we have been learning to garden...
and the results have been nourishing
our hearts,
.
.
our souls,
.
.
and...
..
.
.
.
.
our tummies!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
It will be hard to say good-bye
to the flowers
for another winter
BUT,
saying good bye to
fresh vegetables
on the table every night...
THAT will be
a tough row to hoe!
.
Note to self:
First,
That's not for a time yet so,
I won't muddle my mind with such sad thoughts,
instead, I'll encourage our eyes & tummies
to feast while they can :)
& Second,
I think we need to double the greenhouse
for next year
;)
.
.

.
.
We never seem to get tired of
seeing bears...
.
They are such impressive & majestic creatures!
On this day, the girls & I saw a Black Bear and a Grizzly
while driving home from Whitehorse.
The same day, Sean was in his Parks vehicle & saw,
3 Grizzlies, 1 Black Bear and 2 moose!!!
The little bear below is the only one we caught on camera...
& what a pretty bear she was!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
After a lengthy visit, she said her good byes
and was off,
leaving Adelaide, Sarah & me with
a warm fuzzy smile
:)
.
Note to self: Moments like this make the
100 mile drive to Whitehorse worth while!

.
Yukon storms bring...
.

.

.
Yukon Rainbows :)
.

.

...

And when we are REALLY lucky...

. .

even Rainbows come as
twins
:)
