This would be Wellington & me watching our
first load of laundry!!
Notice the stackable dryer is absent?
Sears goofed up & delivered the wrong one...
now we have to wait for the proper dryer to come in...
Oh well, nothing like "freeze-dried" clothes!!
or simply wondering what ever happened to that daughter that she knew...
Well Mum...I moved to the North...met a Musher & now
I spend my Saturday nights entertained by how little
water & suds there are in my NEW washer!
How life has changed hasn't it??
& poor Sean...
The day he met me...he had NO idea what would become of his humble dwelling ...

insulation, paint, stairs...fridge, stove, a microwave
(did I mention the HUGE TV from Brenda & Michael??)
& now
Home Laundry Facility!!
Ahhh...the bliss of domesticity in a
21st Century Yukon cabin ;-)

ahahha that is a riot!
And front loads are amazing! That is what I have coming too!
I totally did this when we got our front-load washer, too. Except our laundry room is only 2 metres wide, so I had to scrunch up in fetal position, straddling the drain in the floor (which is really just a hole in a pothole) and you can imagine why I didn't actually watch the whole cycle. But I WANTED to... ;) Hope the dryer comes soon!
Kara...you're going to LOVE it!! It uses NO water to speak of at all(& we're on watere haul) & it is SO quiet!! We've just done 2 loads for "fun" & set clothes lines through the place!!
OK....I REALLY must get a life!!
Fawn...That is too funny!! God I love Northerners...you always "get it" !
Look at your hair!
Katrina....about my "hair"...I'm dying to do something to it...like CUT IT OFF!! but I just haven't got the heart quite YET...last time I cut it off, it was to my waist...the pony was 1 1/2 feet long!! hummm...what ta do what ta do what ta do...
I had a front load washer in Kugluktuk for that same reason! We were on hauled water and could do six loads of laundry when before we could only do three! I love being on tow water.
If you do cut off that nice long hair, make sure to donate it!
You're going soft, first a washer/dryer, next you'll have full on plumbing or something!
Kara: Can you believe that if you've ever had your hair high-lighted, you can't donate it!! "Too bad", I say!! I've tried to donate it before & even looked into it again a few months ago...same answer..."NOPE" !
Stacie: Heck NO to "full on plumbing"... it would simply reek havoc on my wilderness viewing opportunities...when I send stuff down the "semi-piped" drains, I get to watch the birds pick at all of the micro scraps just feet from my big window...Yesterday, I almost died when I looked at my view..."Sean" I yelled, thinking I'd just seen the first snow of the season...as it turned out, it was the kitchen suds!! We had to laugh... hehehe
Really?? I had no clue about that one!
Love the suds story.
